  Providing As*istance Dogs for Lifelong Partnerships. PROVIDING AS*ISTANCE DOGS FOR LIFELONG PARTNERSHIPS A 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT. We are proud to announce that A.C.T.S. is now an ADI accredited service dog training organization.   ​ADI’s mission is to establish and promote standards of excellence in all areas of as*istance dog acquisition, training, and partnership, and to facilitate communication and learning among member organizations.  Accreditation by ADI is a peer-review process.  It is a uniform method by which ADI voting member agencies can achieve compliance with the operational standards of excellence established by ADI for organizations that train and place as*istance dogs.  Standards of compliance include every aspect of the program from general management of volunteers, training and placement of dogs, application and follow up procedures, general an*mal care and record keeping, and overall business practices, to emergency procedures, risk management, and Partnering organizations undergo an official docu*ent review and on-site as*essment conducted by highly skilled as*essors.  During the course of the on-site visit, as*essors interview staff, volunteers, the Board of Directors, applicants, and graduates.  As*essors are also given access to a wide variety of agency docu*ents and records, and they observe graduates and puppies in training during practice At the end of February A.C.T.S. received word that their pre-as*essment paperwork was approved.  In the end of August A.C.T.S. completed their on-site as*essment with Grete Eide, an ADI Evaluator and Chief Canine Care Officer for Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and America’s VetDogs in Smithtown NY.  In mid-October we received word that the committee unanimously approved our application. ​We are extremely proud to be a part of such an amazing organization!
