India’s Gender Vulnerability Index is now available on SMARTNET. SMARTNET is an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Kerala has been hit by the worst floods in 100 years. On Aug 26, 2018, NDTV, in partnership with Tata Sky aired a special 6-hour telethon to help raise funds for the state. The telethon raised more than INR 10 crores to help rehabilitate and rebuild villages in the three worst-affected parts of Kerala (Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Idukki). The donation will be utilised by Plan India to support the affected families with food items, non food items, education kit and rebuilding villages.
