Dow: +18.78… Nasdaq: +30.66… S&P: +3.18… The market caught a very weak opening, then some buyers stepped up, but it still wasn’t confidence inspiring. The China kerfuffle, (contraction in their economy) was one of the reasons we saw a weak open, so I still think the market is as good as its last headline. I still think we see… Dow: -799.36… Nasdaq: -283.09… S&P: -90.31… The worm turns fast on Wall Street, doesn’t it?  Almost to the point of it being kind of unbelievable.  The Dow and SPX broke their 200-day-moving averages today like a hot knife through bu*ter. The Dow lost 3.1%, SPX lost 3.2%, the Nasdaq lost 3.8%, and the Russell 2000 lost 4.4%. Here’s why… Dow: +10.92… Nasdaq: -39.87… S&P: -7.06… It was a down day, for the most part, today as the market shook off the recent up move.  I told you to expect some down to sideways action short term as we shake off the rally move.  It’s normal.  It’s consolidation.  The McClellan Oscillator also got overbought. Some will say that the lack of… Sammy the speculator sold all his blockchain stocks and Bitcoin at the bottom and is now hoping for the best with a mas*ive overweight in pot stocks near all-time highs. Dow: -327.23… Nasdaq: -157.56… S&P: -40.13… SPX closed right on its 200-day moving average.  The Dow and Nazzy are just above theirs.  The bear flag on SPX also broke… Dow: -200.91… Nasdaq: -145.57… S&P: -23.90… This market is getting smacked around like pinata the last few days.  As you know I’ve been queasy on this tape since last Thursday. I spoke about Europe the other day.  The Dow making highs but the Russell breaking down hard, and interest rates ripping higher. Biotech looking vulnerable. Today the VIX was up… Dow: +54.45… Nasdaq: +25.54… S&P: +2.08… The S&P flirted with record territory on Wednesday morning but pulled back in the afternoon as investors expressed concern over a surge in bond yields.
